SAN FRANCISCO OPERA

Centenial Celebration Gala 2022

PROJECT
Social Event Planning

CHALLENGE

Blueprint Studios earned the honor to design and create the Centennial Celebration Gala for the prestigious San Francisco Opera

SOLUTION

Our foundational ideas began as the SF Opera did, within the gilded age of San Francisco. We wanted to ground the evening with colors and imagery that are reflective of the iconic architecture and textiles of the 1920s but provide a path to explore what may be in the future.

For the arrival reception and dinner, attendees began their evening journey within an immersive environment retrofitted with a timeless palette of Indigo, Goldenrod, and Onyx.  A mix of periodic textiles such as velvet, leather, crystal, mirror, and ostrich plumes was mixed  throughout each space. An array of seating arrangements, each with a design variant to a different era, was set within the distinct vignettes throughout city hall.

RESULTS
The San Francisco Opera Ball Gala was another successful fundraising event where guests immersed themselves in “A Centennial Celebration” looking toward what's next for this institution in their continuing mission statement: "to nourish society through performing arts."

SYMPHONY 2019

SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY

Opening Night Gala 2019

PROJECT
Social Event Planning

CHALLENGE
The challenge for this event was to design and produce a sophisticated array of receptions, four simultaneous dinners, cocktail lounges, and an afterparty across multiple iconic San Francisco venues.

SOLUTION
The 12,000 square foot Partons Pavillion featured some of the evening’s most magical designs. The ceiling was draped in cerulean blue dupioni and framed colossal illuminated fringe structures featuring over 3000 cascading lighted gold pendants. Traditional round tables draped with luxurious linens and tufted white leather seating formed the dining configurations. Carefully orchestrated lighting took patrons from a cerulean blue sunset to a twilight lit evening as the wall illuminations and overhead lighting synchronized throughout the night.

The San Francisco City Hall Dinner re-defined modern elegance with textured table linens, Abbot Velvet Dining Chairs, and stunning magenta and violet florals. Hot-pink velvet draped the rotunda archways while matching carpet graced the rotunda steps.

Blueprint Studios transformed the Zellerbach Rehearsal Hall into a lush Havana Nights VIP setting featuring Pop Art interpretations of Symphony Conductor Michael Tilson Thomas.

Adjacent to Davies Symphony Hall and the Patrons Pavilion, symphony attendees were welcomed to the post-concert Grove Street block party featuring a Havana Nights inspired bar, lounge vignettes, DJs and live music.

RESULTS
The San Francisco Symphony Opening Night Gala was a successful fundraising event that raised funding for music and art programs in the Bay Area.

CHALLENGE
We were challenged to design and produce a biennial gala in support of Stanford Health’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital for 400 guests in an effort to surpass previous years’ fundraising totals.

SOLUTION
Blueprint Studios developed an immersive gala experience at the Stanford Red Barn, home to the Stanford Equestrian Team and the Stanford Red Barn Equestrian Center. One of Silicon Valley’s hottest philanthropic events began with a blue carpet cocktail arrival reception which led to the gala dinner featuring color-coordinated tables and giant-sized floral centerpieces. Special guests included Rob Lowe and James Corden who led the fundraising portion of the evening. The arrival area was transformed into an afterparty meet-and-greet setting to cap off the evening.

RESULTS
The Dinner 2019 biennial gala raised $3.2M to benefit babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Stanford Health’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.

Social Event Planning

CHALLENGE
We were tasked to add a cinematic element to the John Muir Health Foundation Gala and create an immersive experiential dimension to the event in an effort to surpass previous years’ fundraising totals.

SOLUTION
The John Muir Health Foundation Gala was a statement in creating a thematic immersive experience. Guests were welcomed into the Kansas-themed registration area which featured bare rural aesthetics including Pallet Bar check-in counters and a custom fabricated spinning tornado prop. Attendees were then transported through the Rainbow Tunnel to Munchkinland, a cocktail arrival reception complete with Yellow Brick Road-inspired bars, giant poppies, and Blueprint Studios’ fiery La Scala Chandeliers.

The main portion of the evening took place beyond the hangar doors where guests were invited to Emerald City. The transformed airplane hangar welcomed over 750 guests to an illuminated sea of green for the gala dinner and auction. Lighting specialist Got Light provided custom lighting fixtures while Blueprint Studios showcased their mirrored-top Napoli Dining Tables and clear acrylic Infinity Chairs along with a custom-built Emerald City-inspired stage.

RESULTS
Gala guests danced the night away as $3.3 million dollars were raised in support of John Muir Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.
