Blueprint Studios recently had the honor of designing and producing a spectacular event for the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, continuing our multi-year partnership in raising awareness for the Academy's green initiatives. The annual gala, Big Bang | Islands 2030, showcased the Academy's Islands 2030 initiative, which focuses on community-based conservation strategies to preserve biodiversity in tropical archipelagos. With a night full of inspiring conversations, gourmet food, and immersive eco-friendly experiences, guests were transported to a world where sustainability, conservation, and biodiversity took center stage.

Design Elements:

To create a memorable and engaging event, Blueprint Studios transformed the California Academy of Sciences into a breathtaking tropical paradise with eco-conscious event design. The dining area featured cascading greenery and an organic chandelier canopy, which created a stunning visual effect. Infinity wooden dining chairs surrounded beautifully appointed tables adorned with tropical floral centerpieces, while Blueprint Studios provided exquisite energy-efficient lighting to enhance the overall ambiance above the dinning tables. Rentals for the event were provided by Hensley Event Resources, ensuring that all elements of the event were in line with the theme of sustainability and conservation.

Cocktail Reception:

The evening began with a sustainable cocktail reception at 6 pm, where guests were treated to delectable drinks and appetizers. The reception area was set up in the West Terrace Garden , which boasted wooden, island-inspired lounge furniture and immersive activation setups. These interactive spaces, created by Blueprint Studios, encouraged partygoers to embrace sustainability and conservation as they mingled and enjoyed the eco-friendly event.

Keynote Speaker & Dinner:

At 7 pm, attendees gathered to hear an inspiring keynote speaker discuss the importance of preserving biodiversity and the goals of the Islands 2030 initiative. Following the presentation, guests were treated to a gourmet dinner provided by Mc Calls Catering. The delicious menu featured sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients, reflecting the event's theme and commitment to conservation.

Party After Dark:

The celebration continued with the Party After Dark (held among the Academy's exhibits) , where guests danced the night away amidst the enchanting décor and immersive experiences, all designed with sustainability in mind by Blueprint Studios. As the clock struck midnight, attendees left with a renewed appreciation for the importance of biodiversity, conservation, and the role we can all play in protecting our planet's precious ecosystems.
